Legna Medical Technology Reaches a
Value of 1.86 Million Euros
FEBRUARY 2021 | Developing medical products for the excretory system at Teknopark Istanbul's incubation center Cube Incubation, Legna Medikal received an investment from businessman Semih Koçak with a company valuation of 1.86 Million Euros.
With this project, Legna Medikal broke new ground by receiving “invention” approval from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) via PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) in December 2020, since there is no similar mechanism in this field in the world. The company will be able to apply for a patent in any country it wants within 30 months. The project also stands out with an A rating from all WIPO classifications. Legna Medikal aims to protect its designs by filing 3 new PCT applications in the upcoming period.
Evaluating the investment they received and Legna Medikal's successful work, company CEO Onur Tekeli said : " As Legna Medikal, we adopt the understanding that teamwork will make dreams come true. In this context, the products we develop with our team and business partners have qualities that offer unique solutions in their fields. Mr. Semih Koçak made this investment by trusting us, our dream and of course the mechanism we developed. We will complete the MVP phase of the project for 2021, and then we will embark on a new investment round. With the date we will enter the market, we have plans to enter the Turkish and European markets first, then the Asian and then the American markets. We believe that we will globalize our market with the strategies we have determined and that we will make a significant contribution to the export figures in the field of medical devices. We also have an important social responsibility goal in this project. We have a social responsibility goal for patients, disabled individuals, babies and children. When our product becomes commercial, we will provide product grants to patients in underdeveloped countries. We will continue our work meticulously to solve this problem that significantly affects people's lives ."
